Maria, Erica’s best friend who has been following the situation since the message appeared, begins to notice changes in her usually cheerful friend. Erica is distracted and tends to check her phone often. Maria decides to talk to her, and despite Erica’s initial reluctance, she shares what happened after her number was disclosed, adding that the invasion had scared her and made her feel unsafe. Maria listens and feels sorry for her: her friend is going through all this alone and is very distressed. She wants to help but doesn’t know how; it seems like a very complicated situation. She decides to discuss it with her parents. She knows Erica doesn’t want this, but she is concerned for her and understands that things can’t continue this way. After telling her parents everything, she is afraid of losing her best friend, but her parents reassure her, promising to try to start a discussion with Erica’s parents to figure out what to do. Erica has found herself in a situation bigger than she can handle, but she’s not alone. We will face it together. Maria invites Erica to her house for lunch, and at the table, they address the issue. They promise to support her when they talk to her parents to find a solution.
